Early commercialisation funding permits companies to complete their R&D, structure their business activities, and to establish sales in at least one market.
Typical sources are Government grants, debt, and angel (private equity) investment. A strategic alliance or joint venture with a major company may also provide these resources.
Such funding is not usually easily obtained. Typical success rates for major government grants and private equity are around 5%.
